Walk and Talk Series | Fetch and Follow Dog Walks | March

Fetch & Follow’s Walk & Talks series, brings together dog owners with a different expert for a dog-friendly walk in varying spots across the capital. With Spring just around the corner we are excited to announce that our March walk will be about learning to run with your dog.

Running with your dog is a fantastic way to keep fit and have fun. Also known as canicross, it's an exciting and fast growing sport. On Sunday 17th March we will be joined by Clare Grierson and Jo Ashbridge who will be sharing tips on how you and your dog can learn to run together

We'll discuss canicross as an activity, the ideal kit, cues and the range of benefits for dogs and humans. There will also be an opportunity for a short, 15 minute run to test canicross kit. However, if you would like to learn more but would prefer to simply join the walk, that's fine too!

Clare Grierson is the founder of Muddy Mutleys, a canine behaviour practitioner, ISCP.Dip.Canine.Prac., full professional member of INTODogs and the International Companion Animal Network and fully accredited member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She is an accredited Real Dog Yoga instructor, DogFit canicross instructor and Scentwork UK instructor. Mutley, her business, canicross and agility partner is a qualified PAT dog and all round fabulous cockapoo.

Jo Ashbridge and her rescue pup Molly are keen canicrossers. Having spent many weekends travelling out of the city to join dog-friendly runs, Jo set up Run the pack LDN to build a London-based network of canicrossers. The group's first big meetup will be held on Sunday 24th March at 10am in Hampstead Heath. The group is run by volunteers and they aim to host 4 events a year, raising funds for dog shelters. All abilities welcome - new to canicross or regular runners.

The walk will be talking place at Epping Forest / Leyton Flats on Sunday the 17th March at 10am.
