Top 5 Dog Friendly Place to Visit | Shopping in the city

This month’s Top 5 places to visit blogpost is about our trip to the city with our dogs hunting for the best spots to go Christmas shopping and hang around central London.

DOG WALK IN THE CITY

(Central London W1)

During our Fetch & Follow’s walk and talk in October, Oli Juste the behaviourist shared some very good tips; one of them was ‘going on lead walks in the streets of London with other dogs is a brilliant way to socialise. Sharing sniffs, and weeing on things together is clearly great fun’.

As Oli also mentioned in his blog “there is a misconception that you have to live in the countryside or have a garden to be a suitable dog guardian”. Of course countryside life is pretty amazing with a dog but until you decide to go and live that life with tons of dogs around, you can and should “get creative to use what we have and make the best of it” and turn London’s streets into a nice playground for you and your dog.

Soho Square and Grosvenor Square are great little parks when out and about in Central London when visiting the below spots

ANTHROPOLOGIE

(158 Regent St, Soho, London W1B 5SW)

Another one of our favourite places where we didn’t think going in with dogs would really be a thing is Anthropologie. I imagine most of you already know Anthropologie and this might be no surprise for you. Well, we were actually amazed we could go in and shop in this great store with our dogs. Anthroplogie offers women’s apparel and accessories, intimates, home furniture and décor, beauty and gifts. The brand opened its first doors in 1992 and is now operating over 200 stores around the world. So we cannot guarantee all worldwide stores are dog friendly, one thing we are sure of is Regent Sreet’s one is and it being spacious also helped us feel comfortable walking and shopping around with our dogs.

ARKET – CAFÉ

(224 Regent St, Soho, London W1B 3BR)

We know how exhausting a shopping session in central London can be, although we highly recommend not to make it a never ending afternoon if with your dog. Don’t forget to unwind during the day and give yourself and your dog some rest. ARKET’s café space was all we needed after going around trying not to buy everything in those amazing stores we walked in – ‘they accept dogs, let’s buy everything’ - (it is not because dogs are allowed that you should buy everything that’s on shelves). We really enjoy ARKET’s stores, the brand’s mission is similar to ours at Fetch & Follow’s wanting to offer ‘quality through accessible, well-made, durable products, designed to be used and loved for a long time’. All ARKET’s stores include a café offering the brand’s healthy living vision with quality ingredients so go and treat yourself to an afternoon tea with your dog in one of London’s trendiest stores.

LIBERTY

(Great Marlborough Street, London W1B 5AH)

Believe it or not (we didn’t believe it at first), London’s iconic and upscale department store is indeed dog friendly. You’ll find in one of London’s most iconic place, curated designer fashions, homewares, cosmetics and what made this place so well known; its iconic floral prints. The department store sells luxury goods including women's, men's and children's fashion and so much more, it is a treasure for the eye and well behaved dogs are welcomed, actually most of Liberty’s team members love a suprised dog visit

ANDREW EDMUNDS

(46 Lexington St, Soho, London W1F 0LP)

This lovely small and intimate place in the heart of busy Soho is the perfect spot for you to go for lunch/ diner with your dog. Andrew Edmund’s atmosphere is unique and its service is on point. Around for almost 30 years, the institution hasn’t lost its great reputation. The restaurant has a great menu and wine list. The food is simple, yet very well done. Andrew Edmund is an authentic place with character where you can have excellent food and warm hospitality in a casual atmosphere.
