Owning a dog often means getting to spend a lot of time outdoors on adventures. This could be in a local park, a countryside stroll or a brisk walk along the British coastline. Either way being outdoors is great for both you and your dog’s health and mental well-being.
To help celebrate this and the fact that London is about to become the worlds first National Park City, our friends at the Outdoor People are hosting ‘Park City Celebrations,’ a free festival taking place this Sunday at Netil market in Hackney.
The event is about inspiring, educating and skill sharing in all things Outdoor. This includes a tea-making workshop by Hackney Herbal, Whittling workshops by London Green Wood, celebrity forager John the Poacher will be explaining how you can forage for fresh ingredients on the streets of London, and there will be wild walks with Ida Fabrizio. There will also be live music and food from the residents at Netil Market and the event is dog friendly!
Outdoor People’s mission is to make the outdoors easy for everyone. They are a social enterprise reinvesting profits into getting children outdoors and into nature. As well as running projects and offering consultancy services they also have a shop in East London selling the best ethical, environmentally-friendly and useful outdoor gear.
The event is taking place at Netil Market, Westgate Street, Hackney, London – Sunday 22nd 10am till late
